Architecture Illustration

The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper in New York City, located on the east side of Manhattan in the Turtle Bay area at the intersection of 42nd street and Lexington Avenue. Standing at 319 meters (1,047 ft), it was the world's tallest building for 11 months before it was surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931. After the destruction of the World Trade Center, it was again the second-tallest building in New York City until December 2007, when the spire was raised on the 365.8-metre (1,200 ft) Bank of America tower, pushing the Chrysler Building into third position. In addition, the New York Times Building, which opened in 2007, is exactly level with the Chrysler Building in height.

I chose to do the Chrysler Building because I am a fan of New York City and felt that this building was less complex than other buildings. On Illustrator, tools that were used in the making of the architecture illustration are the pen tool, line tool, direct selection and selection. I used a mixture of grey and white for the building and for the sky, I used blue and white. For the triangles, I made multiple shapes.

Type Portraits

These are my type portraits.

For the shape type portrait, I used many letters and different fonts to form this type portrait.
For the line type portrait, I used song lyrics to travel all the way, from my face, to my hair, to my upper torso. For the Value portrait, I used the same song lyrics and inserted the lyrics multiple times into my hair, face, arms and pants.

Logo, Stationary, Business Card and Envelope

I worked with Robert and Kristen on this project, creating a logo, envelope, etc. for Din Din Doggie Gourmet Dinner.

For the colors, we used green, because the food is organic and the color associated with organic food is green. For the business card, we put a green bar and the information of the left side and placed the logo on the right side.

Website

This project was a re-designing of a dismal website for a Cherokee Jewelry online store.

My choice of background is brown leather. I inserted images of Native American-related images to coincide with the links on the left side. One half of the website is orange and transparent and beneath that transparency is a teepee. I used a Copperfield font for this site. On this site, I included images of the jewelry and below, the names of the objects and the total cost. In the paragraph above, I also included hyperlinks.

Dreamscape

My idea for a dreamscape is a comic book-related one. My dreamscape is basically the story of S.H.I.E.L.D., a government organization that monitors superhuman activity, choosing which members should join the superhero dream team known as the Avengers.

In the background is a wooden board, designed to make it look like an office desk. I placed my hand in this dreamscape as a symbolic metaphor, meaning the fate of the world is in my hands. I inserted images of several comic book heroes and used drop shadow to make the images look like polaroid pictures. I also inserted the S.H.I.E.L.D. insignia to know that the organization's presence is there.

Magazine Cover

This is my magazine project I created on photoshop. This is called "Comics", a magazine dedicated entirely to comic books, science-fiction and fantasy, similar to that of another magazine called "Wizard". This cover is based on "Special Editions" covers of magazine issues.

For the cover, I used a picture of actor Andrew Garfield. For the title logo and the headline, I used drop shadow. To make this a believable magazine cover, I typed in prices and a release date before inserting images of a Comic-Con logo and a bar code. I also used different fonts to make it more comic book-friendly.
